I miss L.A.
I miss Vegas
I miss New York
I've been bitten by the travel bug something fierce! I can barely think of anything other than making enough money so I can leave again. I'm very thankful the job I have is good about letting me run off.
So, I'm planning to be in Los Angeles again next week. This time I will rent a car. I'm used to The City and had no idea how hard it was to get anywhere. I can't tell you how much $$ I spent on taxis alone.
I really hate driving, though. It makes me feel icky just thinking about having to do it. My daddums died in a car accident when I was a wee thing. Maternal Unit never drove after that. I went to DMV kicking and screaming at 19 to get my license. The road puts me to sleep. I have a hard time keeping focused for more than 45 minutes at a time. I fell asleep driving once.
But, I also drive with my ass. Meaning, I love to speed and show off. I never brake until I get to the stop sign. I like to hear the tires screech. I like to try to get the car up on two wheels with every turn and have been successful on a few occassions. I've driven with my knee while turning around and talking to passengers in the backseat, or flipping through a book (Ohmigod! What are you doing!! We're gonna DIE!!!"). I have to drive with no shoe on my pedal foot and work the gas and brake with only my big toe. If possible, I like to have my other foot on the dash.
I've never onced been ticketed for my insane driving, but I've been warned.
I was once pulled over for driving too slow. My license, registration and insurance were all expired. The cop screamed at me and let me go.
I don't know how to drive a stick.
My dad died in a Ford (Pinto, his friend's). All the cars I've ever owned have been Fords. Windstar, Escort, Ranger, Taurus.
I am not a safe driver. I don't recommend anyone ride with me. It took me four tries to pass the DMV (I got 98% - 2 points for not signaling during a turn). If I had the choice, I probably wouldn't ride with me. Which is why I prefer to be driven.
Ahem. Anyway, my friend Eric's band is finishing their tour in Las Vegas! So, guess what? Perfect excuse for me to venture out there again. I'm going to get in a day early so I am certain not to miss them this time.
February infinatelykaty and I have plans to see Tori Amos in concert in New York! Yay! It's going to be a hell-raising good time.
I also have tentative plans to go to North Carolina and West Virginia in the next couple months.
Hmmm.... I should sign up for some type of frequent flyer thing.
I can't make flight reservations, which means I always have to do the extended security search. They swab and analyze my luggage and pat me down around my "sensitive" areas. I try to make reservations, but I'm chronically late. I miss flights alot. So, I usually just taxi to the airport and walk down the terminals to find which airlines can get me there cheapest, then soonest. I know it's a fabulous waste of time, but I've lost so much money on missed flights, it's really quite nauseating.
Okay, anyway. I should be getting ready for work. Here is a picture:
Sicily, me,
Pearl, Reagan and Stormy after SG Live! San Francisco.
P.S. I'm horny. (There totally needs to be a little pink horny icon).
