Went out with some of the SGSF crew for winetasting, courtesy of Requiem. I didn't do as much tasting as I did drinking, so partyway through the seven wines we were tasting I got confused and kept saying, "Am I tasting the wrong one??!!" Not that it mattered. They all tahyste great!
Although I did decide that one of the wines tasted like leather and ants, but that was probably because I ate tortilla chips before tasting.
We went to Mumm Vineyard and learned the difference between sparkling wine and chapagne. If I was paying attention I might know what that was. But they both tahyste great!
Dave_h was in attendance. He provided much entertainment with his boot camp stories. Eating a packet of vanilla cappucino dust at 2 a.m. and trying to quietly hide the evidence.
Later while BBQing thatmikeguy spotted a scorpion. He's in midsentence, stops and says, "There's a scorpion by your foot". He said it like three times before anyone reacted and it reminded me of that scene from Nothing to Lose with Martin Lawrence and Tim Robbins, "You got a spider on your head."
I don't know what time I got home. I was so tired and drunk.. I had many wines, beers and a huge helping of Jack and Coke.
Along with hamburger, hot dogs and my favorite five layer dip from Safeway.
It was a good day, tho. Nice and sunny in wine country. It reminded me of those summer days spent in one of my closed chapters. I could just close my eyes with windows rolled down and let the wind whip through my hair as we headed down the highway. I felt as if I could glance over into the driver's seat and see that boy from my life long gone behind the steering wheel.... But we like to relish in only the good.
Anyway, today. Nothing. Except maybe brunch. I'm still debating on putting huervos rancheros in my tummy! Tonight. Work.. and then back in the grind until Thursday.
Which reminds me, Ms Chile and I had originally planned to travel to New York together. Well, I'm going without her on Friday and told her yesterday. She says, "You are going to New York on Friday? So am I!"
Coincidence? I don't believe in them, so I don't think so. Awesomeness? Yes!
