The boy and I spent yesterday afternoon window shopping on Haight. I went into a shop and got all googley-eyed about this screen-printing set, then I went to another shop and tried on some possible prom dresses! Heehehe!! I'm so excited. I want to wear a dress. I haven't worn a dress in a long time!! Then we went to the music store and he played with a guitar while I drooled over the piano book for Tori Amos' Little Earthquakes album. I can't wait until I can play those songs!!! I started loosing it by the time we got to Amoeba Records. The new DVD section is badass. I love the cult DVD section and terribly wanted to purchase a copy of Cremaster Cycle 3. ::le sigh::
Later I went to meet the piano teacher. We had a little meet and greet. He then agreed to give me a lesson on a post-dated check. Woot! I want a piano so bad! I got to look under the hood and press all the keys and pedals and watch the hammers moving.... My little keyboard that I was so excited about absolutely pales in comparison to his upright. I have to earn it tho. I can't go getting a big ol' piano if I can't even play it. We started with some really basic stuff.. the staff, time signatures, sharps, flats... and built on that within the hour. He gave me some handouts of little pieces to practice. Little *cheesy* pieces. He told me my motivation is to master them as quickly as possible so I will *never* have to play them again. Heh. Here here to THAT! He asked me to bring some music I'm interested in playing, so we can work towards that.
It's so nice outside today! It's picnic weather. I want to go to the park with fruit salad and sandwiches. YUM!
