Aw, thanks for the warm welcome back, guys. I've missed ya.
So what have I been up to the past year and a half? Plenty. I'm still in Portland with Byron, my sweetie. I'm still a practicing Witch (and as we all know, practice makes perfect!) and a member of a non-Wiccan, Dianic (meaning we work with the Goddess only) coven called WitchRoots. I'm enrolled in the Cella Goddess study program offered by the Re-formed Congregation of the Goddess. I also just enrolled in the online hoodoo/rootwork course offered by cat yronwode of Lucky Mojo. I'm REALLY loving this! I've finally found a magical system that works for me.
The other big thing is, last summer I got my dream job! I am now the souk (retail shop) manager for Caravan Studio, home of the Gypsy Caravan Tribal bellydance troupe. It's just part-time in the late afternoons and evenings, but it's a fabulous job and I love it (well, 99% of the time!). I also just started taking bellydance lessons there again, after nearly a 3 year hiatus. It's about friggin' time, is all I can say.
I'm still doing my website, Radio Bastet, where I play old-school bellydance music from my LP collection (now in mp3, no more RealAudio). It's been wildly successful, beyond anything I ever could have dreamed.
A couple months ago I got a dread perm by the splendiferous Chainsaw Mary, as you can see from the pic. She put some extensions in there to balance it out until my real hair grows out a bit. It really needs some maintenance, but overall I'm pretty pleased with it. I've finally come to terms with the fact that I'm basically a Pagan Hippie Chick (with more than a smidgen of Beatnik thrown in for good measure). Wave your freak flag high, my children...
