Found out I'm going back to Iraq in the mid-December timeframe. So, my plan to delay my deployment by taking a long vacation worked. I actually got here the day they were leaving. haha, I felt like an asshole walking around and moving into my room while everybody else was clearing out of theirs and saying goodbye to their teary-eyed wives/girlfriends/mothers, etc....
I'll be there soon enough.
On the negative side, one of my buddies I was talking to said that his unit has been in Iraq for only two months and three have already been shot in the arm. That sucks. I'm not so motivated anymore.
Edit: I like to end on a positive note so I just want to use this time to say how much I love lunch. I love the smell of lunch, the taste of lunch. I love setting aside time for lunch. Sometimes I have two lunches in one day. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I really, really love lunch. I had lunch today at 10:30am and even though it's only about 11:40 now, I think I can squeeze in one more lunch before dinner.
O lunch, I love you!
Edit 2: Look! I made it onto the homepage of Iraq Veterans Against the War!

Y'know, a blackberry lost probably could be a pretty significant intelligence leak, if it reached exactly the wrong place in the field. What the army expects to do about this by making you register them is another matter, though.
