I've always been cursed. I've always had the strange ability to meet the most amazing people on the planet.
When I was younger, the Army seemed like the perfect job. It would allow me to continue down my path of self-destruction, meanwhile giving me a free place to stay and free food. Combined with my restless, nomadic nature, I had very little reason *not* to enlist. I was basically getting paid to drink myself into oblivion and just as soon as I got bored with my surroundings, it was time to leave.
Enter Deutschland.
During my all too short stay in Germany I lived, laughed, loved. I had my heart broken and broke a dozen more. I fought in a war and marched in a peace rally, and I met some of the most fantastic people I will probably ever know and for the first time in my life, I find myself wanting to stay.
The funniest thing is that all I have in common with these people is the same inclination to just get as wasted as possible and dance every weekend. I don't talk to any of them during the week, but on the weekend it's like no time has gone by at all.
This may sound weird, but I read the book "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" because I was hoping it would make me appear sensitive. Well, for those of you unfamiliar, this man goes to Heaven and meets five people (duh) but each of these people is forever in the place that made them the happiest on earth.
It may sound cheesy but for me that place is the Happy Rock (aka. Slappy Cock). I think getting sloppy drunk at the Happy Rock every weekend is just about the greatest thing on the planet. I imagine that's what my Heaven would be like with everyone there from Trixie, the old waitress, to everyone from the old crew to the new. Even my nickname, Bluemchen, is perfect.
"God help me, I love it."
