Today I received a phone call from talent recruitment agency I signed up to. They said they'd love to work with me but they need professional photos for a portfolio. The guy said he would organise a photo shoot for me with a pro photographer. The catch? The photo shoot will cost me $270 plus $110 for makeup. Would this be a waste of money? I'm worried if I turn down the shoot I'll miss out on a wonderful opportunity but at the same time I don't want to be left nearly $400 out of pocket with nothing to show for it. How do these things usually work? Should I do it?

I got recruited for voice acting. It's a lengthy start up process and cost. It might not be steady income. It's a gig by gig basis. I say it's worth it for extra cash here and there but doesn't substitute a regular job. Hope this helps!
