It's funny how I go through different phases when it comes to listening to music. Right now it's back to 80's glam/sleaze rock. I remember growing up with the likes of Hanoi Rocks, Faster Pussycat et al. It seems this whole genre is coming back. This also brings back memories from my first trip to L.A. in 1986. Friday and Saturday nights on the Sunset Strip were just insane. Up from Gazzari's (I think it's called Key Club today) down to the Whiskey was packed with skinny dudes in spandex and cowboy boots and girls with huge hair, mini skirts, black fishnets and white heels. In the middle of this crazyness was little mountain boy from Switzerland who didn't know what hit him, hahaha... One of my favorite spots was the Rainbow Bar & Grill. Lemmy from Motrhead and the boys from G'n'R (before they were famous) would hang out there almost every night. I went to a language school in Santa Monica and missed most of my classes because of all the partying. Anyway, this brings me back to some new and really cool sleaze bands.
Crashdiet are from Sweden and play perfect 80's sleaze rock:
The Last Vegas are probably my favorite band of the new batch.
I also still dig the crap out of Sixx: am's "Tomorrow", lyrically one of my very favorite tunes. And yes, Nikki Sixx still is a cool cat!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun...and I'm sure you've got lots of stories to tell.
