So I went into work today and everything seemed fine. I was putting away clothes, selling stuff and what-not. While I'm checking someone out at the register, one of the managers calls me and tells me that I need to go to the executive office. I finished helping my customer and went upstairs. When I got there, the Loss Prevention manager was there and so was the lady that had called me to go up there. They ask me to sit down and say that they need to talk to me about something. I had NO idea what they LP manager had to say to me so I was a bit worried. Eventhough I had no reason to be seeing as how I have NEVER stolen ANYTHING from there, not even before I worked there.
LP started talking to me about various things asking me if I have ever taken anything from the store - of course I said NO. Then he brought out this paper saying that I have been using my driver's license number to do customer returns which was true. Because at Foley's, whenever a customer that paid cash returns something, at the end of the transaction, the computer asks for their driver's license number so that they can track who returns when and how often. Well, one day, a customer told me that she didn't want to give that information to me so I called my manager over to see what I should do. When she came over, she said to make up a number and see what happens. I did that and it wouldn't go through because it was fake - obviously! So I entered in my DL number and it went through. I told her that I did that and she said OK. So since she never told me that there was anything wrong with doing that, I would occasionally do that same thing whenever I had a line and I just wanted to get the customer out of there. Well, come to find out all that looks like on paper is that I could be using a customer's receipt and making returns under my associate number and keeping the cash for myself!!!
I ended up being terminated because of it and my manager didn't even admit that she herself never told me that it was wrong to do that because SHE could get in BIG trouble for it! So they sent me home and I had to call my roommate to tell Daniel that I needed a ride home but he never answered so I called my parents, told them the whole situation and they came to get me and take me home. On the way home, my Dad offered me a job as his office manager. I had done that job for him before but I left for stupid reasons.
So today there were bad and good things happening - I guess. It just sucks what happened but I am SOOOOOOO glad that my Dad offered me that job
