What's new? Not much, here. I survived the next round of holidays. I realized a long time ago, and then re-realized it recently, that coming from a broken home is a good thing. The fewer family members you have in your life, the fewer people you have to emotionally scar and otherwise fuck-you up.
I watched "It's a Wonderful Life" the other day. I have to admit: it's a good story, well told. However, I found that when George Baily was frenetically running down the main drag in his hometown trying to make sense of the night clubs and the seedy riffraff running amok, I found myself preferring that to his alternate, family-values-style universe. It's the dodgy characters that color this world--the Tyler Durdens and Dean Moriartys.
