Alright...so i got my CPAP Machine yesterday. I have just woken up after 7 hours of sleep and i dont feel like the walking dead. So far so good. I will have to take the mask back because its too big but other than that it seems to work well. Even on one of the lowest air settings it takes a while for my lungs to ajust...being a smoker my poor lungs are not in the best shape. It was funny though when I went to get the machine the lady looked at my file and said " you dont have sleep apnea ... but you have more Hypopnea than anyone ive ever seen!" What it means is that I dont stop breathing at night like someone with an apnea would, but that I breath very shallow. So what happens is that I relax so much that it cause a drop in my blood oxygen level. So I never wake up feeling rested because I cant get int rem sleep. I had 174 confirmed hypopneas in one night when I got my test done. The sleep tech was surprised. He said he had never seen so many. Cant say that I felt good about being another text book case or close too it. I do think its time to quit smokeing though...the reason i probably have these hypopneas is because my lungs are shit from smokeing and getting pneumonia one to three times a year. Funny thing is that I dont smoke very much at all. 3-7 a day and my poor system cant handle it. But in the long run its gonna be better for me I know. Its just so strange to be sitting here this early and not "hurting" from lack of sleep......gonna be a good day tater!![biggrin](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/biggrin.b730b6165809.gif)
