It's been a little crazy to say the least. Here be the story........
Obviously the fetus is out - I went in for a routine ultrasound and OB checkup on the 29th. (Which so happened to be the last day of classes before spring break = finals day) Anywho the doctors and grandma figured it was time RIGHT THEN to get the fetus out.
So I went from sitting in the office, quite happy, feelin pretty good, to upstairs in labor and delivery with my "last meal" and waitin on Potocin to start this long process along.
and yes I do mean LONG PROCESS.
About 6pm that night (mind you I got into my room and settled by noon) they started potocin and inserted a foley bulb in the vag to dialate the cervix. IT SUCKED BAD. For those who don't know what it is, it's a makeshift water balloon - seriously, and it hurt really really bad, just as bad as the kid coming out if you ask me.
The 'bulb' didn't do much but keep me in constant pain from 6pm till 4am. when they finally gave up on it and took it out. (Praise the lorb)
Shortly after I got my loverly epidural...which is the strangest feeling in the world, and I was paranoid the whole time I was gonna end up paralyzed so I kept moving my toes. (stfu guys)
NOBODY told me that the meds would make me itch like Tyronne ethier so I spent the next couple hours trippin and itchin' and contractin' (whilst the family slept peacefully on in my room)
By noon the next morning I'd about had it...contractions were getting real bad, I was tired and hungry and aggravated and the pressure of the fetus's head getting lower was UNBELIEVABLE it really does feel like you have to poop...the worst kinda poop ever.
Finally at 4:15ish I buzzed the nurse for some Sprite (what I'd lived off of for 20 plus hours) and of course before I could drink it, I had to be "checked" and surprise the fetus's head was down, crowning pretty much (which explains all the pain)
Then......I panicked....4 or so doctors rushed in, dude came by and gave me a extra dose in my epidural catheter (I love that guy) and my bed was broken apart and the dreaded stirrups were pulled out. (Joy)
Notice the time on this picture...she was born 9 min later, and my face - pure fear......the boy looks bored tho
They used forceps and pretty much yanked my little spawn out...(worst feeling evah)
She was 6lbs 13oz and 20in long. Which doesn't seem like much BUT felt like a ton.
It took them 45 min to 'repair my tear' she'd given me. I'm still recovering over that one. It'll take about a month before I'm normal. I walk like a cowboy and have no energy whatsoever. If you want to come help me take care of the little spawn lemme know.....all help is welcome lol. I'm just glad it's all over.....for the most part.
She has in fact gotten some color now too....
