I let the kitties in the garage...they like to poke around in there and roll on the floor, and if there's no car in there, there's nothing they can fuck up really. They don't get to go outside, so at least the garage is SOMETHING different.
Anyway--they caught a lizard. This happened last year--last year it was a green one & his tail snapped off & he was OK. This was a little brown lizard with a blue tail. I went to let them out of the garage & saw they were in the living room playing with something...the lizard.
I got a dustpan and tried to make it run into it but it wouldn't, so I had to *gulps* pick it up by the tail. I put it outside on the front step & I thought it would run off, but one of its front legs looked messed up. Otherwise, it looked OK, but I guess it died of shock or something, cause it walked about half a foot & never moved again.
Needless to say, the kitties were very upset that I took their toy away.
I don't mind it when cats kill things, I appreciate the hunting instinct, in fact it's quite entertaining, but just not...IN MY HOUSE. We used to let the big one-Winston-outside and almost every day he would bring us a dead fieldmouse.
But now they don't go out, so it's just lizards or whatever they can scrounge up in the garage. (There was a cicada in there one time...
They're big, ya know, and Winston caught it in his mouth and ATE IT. It sounded very crunchy.
)
Happy Thursday!
