Hi SG! This is going to be a MASSIVE blog, full of pretty pictures! If you read all of it you might find some realllllyyy exciting news at the end!!
Wow, I'm sorry it's been so long! I've been SUPER busy!!! Since my last post I've been searching daily for a job. Its REALLY difficult to get a job here in Australia if you're not a resident or citizen. The 6 month limit on my visa's restrictions made it even more difficult as well. Not to worry though, after months of handing out resumes and filling out heaps of online applications I've finally gotten a job! I'm going to be working in a video game shop! Wooohoo!!
Ever since I was 16 I've been applying at video game shops, but never had any luck. I knew I was more than qualified with being a gamer and all that, so I always figured it was just because I was a girl. (Back in New Orleans I'd NEVER seen a girl working in a video game shop so it seemed like that was the case lol.) I haven't started yet, but hopefully should be in next week. I am BEYOND excited!!! Though honestly, I'm a bit nervous... what if they make me work on December 7th?!?!?!?!
I'm not sure if I can handle working during the release date for Cataclysm!!! It'd be hell selling it and watching all the customers go home to play WoW!
However, if I do work the release I'll be getting a nifty WoW shirt to wear at work for the day!
Other than job stuff, I've been gathering up the last bits for my Spouse Visa Application. I've had to send off to the FBI for a US police check, as well as one for Australia. I've also been booked in for a $300 medical exam. This better be a fancy ass damned medical exam costing all that money! Annnd guess who has to pay for all of these things? I do. (OK technically Marty does, seeing as how I don't have money since I've been jobless, but you know what I mean) It's freaking insane, as if the price of the visa alone didn't already drain us of all our Honeymoon savings (that's right, we still haven't had one
) they're now scavenging even more money from me. It's extremely frustrating at times, but hey, I guess that's the price of love in Australia. As stressful and expensive as it is, it's TOTALLY worth it to be able to finally live with Marty and not have to worry about when I'd see him next!
In other news, we recently took Buffy to the beach for the first time! I'm so excited that we've found a leash free beach! Sadly it's not very good for humans to play in cause it's very pebbly! Buffy loves the beach though, and I love watching her play in the water! Here's some photos!
We also took a trip to Arthur's Seat that day:
The other week we went to Phillip Island. There they have the Nobbies, which off the coast is a bit of rocks where Australia's largest Fur Seal population lives. It's also home to the largest Great White Sharks in Southern Australia. We also went to see the Fairy Penguins, the world's smallest species of penguins and the only ones native to Australia. They're SO CUTE!!! Sadly we can't take pictures there because it scares them. However it is an amazing experience to sit on the beach and watch hundreds of little penguins waddle up to their burrows after the sun has gone down. I had a group of them come about a half inch away from me, it was so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
The small bit of rocks behind us to the left are where the Fur Seals live!
Marty took me to the shopping centre a few days ago to look for shoes for work (we have to wear nice black shoes), and as always I have to stop at the pet shop to say hi to all the puppies and kittens. We spotted the CUTEST little orange kitty in the window. We thought about how much Marty's Mum had been telling everyone how she missed having a kitty, and really wanted a ginger one again like she had in England. So on a whim we decided to see how much they were and if the orange one was sold. Boy, did we luck out. They were on sale for 50% off and he was still for sale! The lady got him out and let me cuddle him and he was just the sweetest little cuddly ball of fur with big gorgeous blue eyes! Marty immediately said "We'll take him!" Then we went to his parent's house and surprised his Mum with an early Xmas pressie! She was so shocked and thrilled and she still can't stop smiling! So, without further delay, I introduce to you: Milo!
Oh hai! I are in camera bag!
Sweepy kitty!
Marty got a new Cintiq 21UX and gave me his Intuos! It's MUCH bigger than my tiny Intuos makes drawing/painting so much easier!!!! Let's see I'm not sure what else to talk about now. I'll just show you some oldish artwork instead:
"Amelia"
"Miraera"
Oh, so I supposed y'all would like to hear this exciting news? Well a few days ago Puffin came down to Melbourne! She and Mad Dame came over and we had heaps of fun! Puffin shot a set for me while Mad Dame took video of it!!!! I'm SOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!! I've submitted it, but it's still pending! I'll be sure to update and let everyone know of it's status as soon as I find out! It's been so long since I've had a set, I really hope SG likes it!!!!! I had a blast shooting it though, so much fun!!!!
Well, I think that's all for now. My tummy is talking to me so I better get some food! NOM NOM NOM!
