today my parents came to visit and they brought all kinds of goodies!
my dad fixed the hood of the car too. [fender bender messed it up and it would flip up if we went over 30 mph]
they brought us some groceries which was super awesome! my mom also grabbed my camera <3
they brought treats for Zelda, Link & Sha'uri too. yay!
but the absolute best part...
gardening supplies!!!
they got me a brand new set of hand tools, and let me borrow their larger tools to turn up the soil in my garden plots.
also some cute purple gloves and lots of seeds!!!
a wild flower mix for the flowerbeds!
and for the veggie garden:
- chives
- green snap beans
- lettuce
- cucumber
- 5 different bell peppers
- watermelon [the smaller kind]
- snow peas
- sweet corn
here's my backyard.
this is the middle plot. it used to have an irrigation system, but its was mostly missing from Katrina most likely.
i'm going to use this plot for my veggies!
these are some neat bricks i uncovered in front of the middle plot. cute huh? they were totally overgrown an d i had no clue there was bricks under it! still more work to do on that. i can see a small path leading to the plot on the right too.
Halley helped me move the bricks and tear up the old black tarp that was also overgrown. by the time we'd done that and i had moved the tarps into the shed i was so exhausted that i could only turn up a small section of the soil. and not very well either. i'll have to work on it more tomorrow!
this is the plot to the left side of the yard next to our deck. the rose bushes are from the previous tenant. i'm going to fill this in with a wildflower mix.
and this one is on the right side of the yard. more wildflowers here too!

i've also never really taken any of flowers either! hehe
