Happy New Year all.

I've been a bit of a stranger lately, but the workday in a French kitchen has been slowly sapping the life from me. I'm looking for a new job already, reason being: I hate it when food claims to be one thing when in reality it is another. Fresh not frozen! I want seasonal produce, organic produce, and being in France where chefs often go to the market to buy their product there is no excuse for unripe cherry tomatoes and previously frozen scallops. I am also not a fan of large batch cookery, don't have more food in house than you can use in a day or two. Argh! I'm so hard to please, but it is my career!

I have other news, good news. I may have mentioned my forthcoming trip home, (anyone in the San Fran area between the 9th-16th should come hang out!) but I didn't mention the reason. I am being a rash bastard, (so what else is new) and I'm getting married. I'm so happy with her, we enhance the best parts of each other without control games, I can be with her and still do whatever I want to do. Maybe it's stupid, but I am so excited. I was always a romantic at heart!
