I'll bet it was a great bar story. A while back I was taken in by one of those news announcements celebrating Cheeta's gazillionth birthday. Hook, line, and sinker. First came a moment of incredulity, followed by a joyous awe...for who would make up such a thing about a dimly remembered but beloved relic of the past, right? I guess that's what makes a good apocryphal tall tale.

I'm sorry you were duped. It really would've been something if it were true, not only for you but for your listeners as well. A moment of happy pixie dust for all.

I've had two friends have some interaction with Joe Strummer and they both said the nicest things. He sounded like a golden fellow. Will have to give the song a listen to catch your line. Great photo..of course you already know that.

This is why you're awesome.
Also, Beware, this story drops more names than a drunk mailman.

And not yet making a skype is why I'm not.

Look what someone gave me... an unopened box of Polaroid Type 55.... I used to shoot about 3 boxes per month until they stopped making it. Yahoo!

For those that don't know, this was a film that Polaroid made before their ultimate demise. From one "instant" photo you got a 4x5 inch Polaroid print as well as a very high quality 4x5 negative. You had...

I was going to suggest donating it to the Smithsonian...but that would be a waste of something potentially brilliant, I'm sure. wink

I miss my little Polaroid snaps. Another lovely thing lost to the digital age. *sigh*
velvet_petal:
That was a very special and well thought out gift.

Late 1980s:
Upon entering Bette Davis West Hollywood apartment, even the casual observer couldnt help but notice the tiny white porcelain vases that seem to be on every horizontal surface, each sprouting a floret of cigarettes. Vantage filters - king size. Ms. Davis, 80 at the time, was as thin as a thread when I encountered her less than a year before she died, though...

Not everyday a person gets called cat daddy by Carl Perkins. Not any day in fact for most. Hey, that was a great "anything can happen next" kind of story.
