I got my annual review yesterday. I was expecting it next week, so it took me by suprise. It wasn't a review I was hoping for. It's just really obvious that what I consider going above my job description and what my boss thinks going above my job description are not the same. So I did alright, great even and appreciated, but I guess I'm just going to have to figure out what my boss thinks is fantastic short of putting on spandex and saving the world and go from there. The worse part is that I don't know if I got a raise. That makes me more nervous than wearing white pants to spaghetti dinners. My review goes up to the review board and "they'll let us know". I'm not liking that, especially since I took a cut in pay to work there.
Just to punctuate the day, as I was gathering my stuff and shutting down my monitor at work I did a mental check of things that needed to be taken home, grabbed the pile, made sure I had water for the drive home, locked my office door and the security door(as I was the last to leave my department) and went to go grab my car keys and realized I left my purse in my office.
I'm just glad I made it home in one piece.
So this morning I am sitting in the semi dark drinking coffee and devouring cookies.
Think I'm starting to feel better
