Well this is a topic from a long time ago, but I saw someone else post on this topic recently so fuck it! I wanna too! Art has been a huge part of my life; I used to draw, my Dad took us to museums a lot, and well it's just fascinating to me!
I'm a huge fan and customer of Hardtimes Clothing, which they take a lot of independent artist's designs of different video game, comic book, pop culture, and turn them into tees, phone cases, hats, and such. i don't know all of the creations made but I like supporting the little guys because they can honestly have the best perspective and creativity for things. Then I saw this one design that just won my eyes cause it was just gritty and bad ass to me.
Holy shit...was my thought as I stared for a few minutes at this. It was just haunting, epic, badass, grungy that I had to do further study into the artist cause fuck man, this is like wow. After a bit, found it the artist is Dan Mumford, a fucking rocstar in my eyes. He does a lot of recreating of different scenes in movies, video games, and hell, some art for Iron Maiden. But in like a dark way that captures that scene in a way that just always wows you. Some bring out terror, triumph, adventure, deep feelings.
I mean the colors themselves have a characteristic to them that brings out a feeling but reels you into the art. I haven't been this invested into art in a long time and excited each time he releases something on Instagram. Lately, I make sure to save for my world adventure, but fucking Hardtimes makesit really hard when Mumford does a new design for them. Like I'm already sold and gotta put aside to get my hands on it then sport it to the world. I've probably talked my friend's ear off when it comes to Mumford but shit I want people to see it! Even more badass is that he does official promo artwork too, I found out. Star Wars came out and they usually have some sort of special IMAX design that I've just brushed off till I saw this...
I was like,"I know this style." Looked into it more and sure enough...it was Mumford's work. Now he's been at this awhile and I'm still a new fan but I stopped and felt childlike feelings looking at this. Felt completely dreamlike to me but I thought it was really cool, especially, that Hardtimes is more vast than I thought, but still small to be showcasing a rockstar's work is pretty badass. So yeah that's the artist I'd like to bring attention to, Some of you from the UK, may know more about him, I'd love to know, for me is it June 10 yet? Another design is coming out by Mumford and I fucking need it. ;)
