First up out the gate, we're going with Deicide and their debut self titled album. The track? "Sacrificial Suicide." I love this damn track! Enjoy! See you after this one down below!
Up next, one of the "vibe" tracks I mentioned! From the monumental and influential Brazilian band Sepultura, I give you "Kaiowas" off the 1993 album Chaos A. D. and it's such a great traditional style song with some fantastic elements! Sepultura (in its original form) was one of my favorite bands growing up! Enjoy and there's more after this so, keep on going if you will!
Up next the GOATs from America. The one, the only, Slayer!!! From the 1988 album South Of Heaven, I give you, "Silent Scream." A true classic! I'm all for "Raining Blood" and tracks like that but "Silent Scream" is one of my favorite Slayer songs on one of my favorite Slayer albums! Enjoy, I'll be seeing you below for more!
Up next, one of Tampa Florida's best death metal acts, Nocturnus! Off their 1990 album, The Key, I give you the opening track "Lake Of Fire" and it's soooo fuckin' good :) They're one of the OG bands from the US in the death metal scene here to use keyboards to great effect. They kill it and they're top tier! Enjoy! More in a second!
This band up next, was so fucking amazing and they never did another under this band name. It was so upsetting! I remember stumbling across it in a record store when it came out in 1993 and it blew me AWAY. So, here's the heavily influential band God Is LSD and their track "Spirit Of Suicide" of the album of the same name. Enjoy! One or two more to come? Maybe three? See ya after this one!
From my favorite end of the hard spectrum, industrial music, I give you Chicago's finest, Ministry. Al lives in Texas now but he was here for a LONG time!! He's one of my biggest inspirations and I love Ministry with all my heart! So off the album The Land Of Rape And Honey released in 1988, I give you "Golden Dawn." Bonus points for anyone that can tell me what movie the spoken word sample "you have been found guilty of commerce with the devil" is from! Enjoy! One more coming up!
Another Chicago staple of industrial and "Satan disco rock" is one of my favorite all time bands too. That band, My Life With The Thrill Kult. I won't go into it now but, if anyone is curious, drop me a message and I'll tell you the fascinating story of how they became a band in the first place! Truly amazing and never compromised what they wanted to do and to sound like and they gave zero fucks what anyone else thought. So from their 1990 album Confessions Of A Knife, I give you the banger that is "Kooler Than Jesus- Electric Messiah Mix." A true classic in the space! Enjoy! Maybe there's an extra treat below this one? Well, you'll have to see...
BONUS!! I couldn't dip without giving ya all one more from MLWTTKK! From the album that broke them even more into the spotlight of Chicago music, Sexplosion (1991), I give you "Mystery Babylon" and the bizarre but amazing video from the DVD collection. Enjoy! I love ya all and I'll see you all again when I can!! You all rock and I truly am grateful to those that dig my music blogs! Whether its music I love or my projects, thank you always and eternally!
