The band. 5 songs from the beginning of an amazing band that in the long run, had a relatively small output of studio work. What was put out and performed live as well, was pure quality. That is not a stretch at all. So from the first album Good (1992) I give you the first track up, "The Saddest Song" a truly sad and phenomenal song all in one. Simply perfect honestly. Enjoy.
Now the second song, "Do Not Go Quietly Onto Your Grave" and his life also ended while performing this song by the way. Mark Sandman, singer/bassist, had an, interesting and wild life. You should check him out. Anyway, here's the track so enjoy!
Third up, from the album Cure For Pain (1993) is the equally sad and inspiring song "I'm Free Now" and this may hit you (everyone I mean) a little bit differently possibly. It's a "feels" song for sure but all of these songs are! Who am I kidding?? Anyway, enjoy!
Next up, same album is the track "Candy." it's a song about a woman and a man and their kind of toxic (but in a loved and accepted sort of way) and bittersweet sort of relationship. It's another certified winner and inducer of sadness, acceptance and/or a feeling of "finality satisfaction." That's how I would describe it so, enjoy!
Last but not least (sorry the list was so long everyone!) the title track from this album "Cure For Pain." You'll understand perfectly when you hear it and it's a glorious testament to the pursuit of being pain free to not need to blow off steam in more destructive ways. A thing we (and Mark Sandman( know isn't possible so... Yep. This is the end of the list. Enjoy "Cure For Pain" and this has been your Morphine rundown. I hope you like them if you have never heard them before! They were fucking amazing, truly! I fell in love the first time I heard this band and I couldn't ever not listen to Morphine after that day in '92 when Good came out. Anyways, see you al later and enjoy! Have a great weekend everyone!
