From the ever amazing band Cibo Matto, here's a track from the 1999 album Stereo Type A. The track is the fairly heavy "Blue Train" and it is one of the most heavy songs in the entirety of the Cibo Matto discography. I first saw them live at the Tibetan freedom concert in 1999 and at the Double Tree hotel in Chicago, I actually got to meet and sit with Yuka Honda, Miho Hatori and the biggest prize of that day, Sean Lennon!! He and both Yuka and Miho were all very nice and wonderful to talk to! I especially liked talking with Sean Lennon because of his first solo album that had come out and not many people were appreciating it (Into The Sun) and I told him that the reviewers were crazy and it was a fantastic debut solo album. He was pleased to hear that, but it was much deeper than that and he was so nice that we sat in the hotel lobby and drank scotch haha. We sat there for like almost two hours talking about music of the time and about trends in music we thought would be big moving forward. All the while, my girlfriend at the time was sitting there in shock because we were talking and laughing with three of four members of Cibo Matto haha. Timo Ellis the drummer was tired and went upstairs to rest but he was also very nice before he went upstairs in the hotel to rest.
So truly, an amazing group of people and I have LOVED this band since their first album Viva La Woman! and of course all the wonderful albums that followed! Thank you for reading my little "fun facts" part of this post and I will stop rambling now haha. "Blue Train." Cibo Matto. Stereo Type A. Enjoy!!
