I'm paraphrasing but here's quote one: Tolstoy: "The most definite form of happiness is to live for someone else." I think that's how that quote goes. I can't really remember it fully unless I nailed it, which I don't think I did. Second quote is a bit more esoteric as I cannot remember where I heard or read this one so it'll be given to "Anonymous."
Quote 2: Anonymous: "Only through true loss can a person ever hope to complete their soul." Another paraphrase because as I said, I can't remember where I read, saw or heard this quote as I was definitely in one of my "chemical hole benders" at the time. I remember that much. Fucked up right? Anyway...
Onto the track for tonight. I know I've posted this track before but it is really how I am too. I really feel like they wrote this song for people like me or rather, like them and I just fit that mold too. Also the video is amazing because they reference some great films the highlight in the video being the money burning fire table. It's a recreation of the scene from Alejandro Jodorowsky's film The Holy Mountain. So yeah, MGMT off their album Oracular Spectacular, the track "Time To Pretend." I've always loved this song and it is very much how I see the world too and the things I've given up, lost, found, wondered over, obsessed about and just felt miserable or good knowing about these mysteries, losses, gains and regrets. The thing is, I'm fine with being kicked when I'm down. Nobody knows how to suffer in silence anymore and hell, even I'm now posting about suffering. I never used to share this kind of thing with people but I find it happening more each and every day. So yeah, anyway, here's that track. Have a good rest of your night/day wherever you are on the planet and know that nothing is promised to us, not even tomorrow itself. Night. <3
