Hi!
Now that I've finished meeting some crazy writing deadlines, I have some time to focus energies on funner things . . . like homework for @missy and @rambo (yeah!).
So here we are, ten random facts about me:
1) Spanish was my first language and I didn't really learn how to speak English until I started Kindergarten. I had a super thick accent up until the age of 8.
2) I played soccer for 13 years. I've played every position, but had standard go-tos depending on the team we were playing. If the other team was good, I'd usually play defender or goalkeeper. If the other team wasn't so strong, I'd play midfield. If the team had one superstar player, I would usually be assigned to be on them the whole game. Random note: girls play fucking dirty.
3) Sushi is my favorite food. I'm not talking fish sushi. I'm talking avocado rolls, inari, anything with veggies and rice that I can douse in copious amounts of wasabi and a sprinkle of soy sauce. Yum.
4) My best friend is @lyxzen and we met for the first time during a 6 hour drive to Spokane for a Suicide Girls convention. We have a bro tattoo that's pretty sweet.
5) I function better when I only get 3-4 hours of sleep. If I sleep more than 7 hours, I usually tend to feel sluggish and don't do much with my day.
6) I was the last person in my group of friends to lose their virginity.
7) I moved to Portland on a whim. I was tired of California, so I packed all of my stuff into my car and just left. Portland feels like home, and I'm so happy to be here.
8) I'll often find white hairs in my eyebrows when I'm plucking. The first time I spotted one, @lyxzen said, "you're turning into an old man!" I now hear that every time I spot a new one.
9) I used to do social work for a living, and was a certified drug and alcohol counselor to at-risk young adults. It was an emotionally taxing job, and I was ultimately fired when a supervisor (not my direct supervisor) found out about my involvement with Suicide Girls. It was a tough summer to endure, but it got me back into writing. I set new goals for myself and within a year . . .
10) I became a published author.
