Hi!
Life has been getting better. My random acts of kindness have actually paid off, and helped me feel better about who I am and what I've accomplished. Although I don't really believe in a higher power, I have noticed that it does seem as though karma exists in this world. Let it be known though, I don't do things because I think that it'll boost up karma points. I do things because it makes me happy to do them, and I enjoy feeling happy. If good things come because I chose to be a good person, awesome. If not, well, no matter - I did something that I felt good about doing.
So remember my little penny project? That day ended up being amazing. I had such a phenomenal day at work, and it really re-iterated why I've chosen the field that I'm in. Also, on my way back home, I noticed that probably all of the pennies I intentionally laid down were picked up (from the locations I remember setting one down at). I left my home that morning with about 30 pennies. Assuming that most of them were picked up, that was 30 people (at most) that will carry warm wishes for an amazing day. Cheesy? Perhaps. But again, I felt great doing it.
Word.
On another note, in exactly two weeks, I will turn 97. That's right, it's time to bust out the massive shades and freshly dyed black muu muus to embrace my venturing into older lady-dom. I do have a wishlist for those who feel compelled to do a little something, but I'm already pretty content with how things are panning out. My grandmother sent me money to buy myself a new bicycle. Although she didn't say that it was for my birthday, I'm just going to treat it as such. The bike that I orinigally wanted, is not longer being made in the color and I size I was hoping for, so I can sit on this cash until the 2011 models come out, or I can shop around for something else. I also plan to do a little Trek in the park the day before my birthday. It should be fun.
I'm going to be in LA this upcoming weekend. It's been a year since I've seen my family, so I'm really excited for this trip. During my time there, I plan on eating amazing vegan mexican food, hiking Runyon Canyon a couple of times, frolicking through Amoeba records, spending time with my precious Sweetheart, and, of course, spending time with my family. It'll be a amazing! Here are some photos from last time:
Me and my little sister. This used to be my room in high school, and it has since been turned into quite the storage room. Awesome

Oh! I have posters! A couple of really awesome members advocated for these instead of the prints I was offering, so... they are being printed as we speak:
