The weekend trip was totally a blast. My dad was surprised. We saw Max Payne, which sucked. We ate at the Japanese hibachi place, which I had never done before and that was a total blast.
In reality: the visit home only made me really hungry for Thanksgiving. I just wanna be home for a few *days* now, and really soak it up. Soon soon soon....
It also made me ... *interested* in the notion of teaching at the liberal arts school in my hometown. We'll see if they call me. But where I grew up is pretty, and it has character - and being near my family would be pretty fantastic.
I even did my husbandly duties and hung out with inlaws on Sunday morning. My inlawas are nice folks, but man: that is no fun. We got breakfast, and that was good. Then we had some time to kill before heading out, so we went back to their place and watched this awful movie and just sort of sat there. I dunno, it's all very sedate. My family tends to bicker and joke and be nosy and *at least* watch better TV. But so it goes. Family and all that jazz.
Anyway. Otherwise, things grind onwards. How was everyone else's weekend?

I'm a tried and true Dodger Fan. When it comes to football I have no team, as I am a resident of a city without one. I generally pick on of the shittier teams and root for them. Most often the Browns or the Bills. You?

I love Chicago. I lived there for 1.5 years in high school. And then for the first 3 years of college, my parents still lived there, so I came back for summers and holidays. I've often tried to return to Chicago to live, but my career just hasn't worked out that way. It'd be great to visit again, it's been a while.
