So today was a complete and utter shit show. I got off shift this morning at 0430am. Only to go back to work for a special detail exercise. For those of you who dont pay attention Im an EMT in Florida. Currently we are preparing for the protests and anarchy that seems to follow. So today was filled with learning about the different groups...laws protecting them and it was then filled with an exciting training exercise...in full uniform...with 120 degree weather.
Add is some flash grenades...a lot of yelling...multiple patients...lots of ambulances and radio chatter...it made for a very tiring day. I have now been up for more than 24 hours....and put in 17 and a half hours of work in the past 24 hours.
So...im dehydrated....tired...my ears are ringing...and I feel like a bag of smashed assholes.
What I am excited about IS the anarchy side...I wish they could protest in peace...however I understand they are angry.
I agree we need change when it comes to politics and both parties seem to be evil. So i understand the angst.
I dont hold a political affiliation. So going into the middle of these protests I can sympathize and understand.
I see the anger towards the police as they feel oppressed by them. What I dont understand is trash talking the paramedics and EMTs that are trying to help their fellow brothers and sisters in their time of need. We are going through a lot of prep work for this event. I hope I stay safe and dont get hit with any flash grenades..fists...and or mace/pepper spray.
