Not quiet sure how I got myself talked into this... but it looks like I am now a promoter. I have a friend in California that is in a band and he'd asked me to help him book a venue. I told him that I would do what I could and got started making phone calls to different venues around town. Then he asked if I knew of any other bands that would be interested in playing with them so I did the hustle and got another band lined up with a third band slot that is left open at this point. The he says "oh burlesque girls would be cool to have at the event, do you know any"... yes, a few ..."call them up". So now I am seeking girls that want to do the show... and I now I have a magazine and possibly a brewery and a distiller interested in sponsoring an event that started out as just another gig.
Now I am working on graphics for the event... and I have written up sponsorship forms and trying to put together a promotional package for advertising on the radio... all while getting a website created to sell tickets to the event.
Here it is 5:00am and I am sitting here writing about all this but I haven't got a venue to agree to host the show yet nor a name for it. I haven't even had so much as a phone call or an email in response to my inquires about hosting a show. I think most venues believe I am full of shit and here I sit on a stack of people wanting to pay to be a part of this.

You have everything dialed in except a venue. Which actually is the easy part! Create a press kit outlining the bands, entertainment, and yoru SPONSORSHIP.....This is key to landing a venue.
I've learned that walking into every venue will get people's attention. They get too many calls about jobs and bands wanting to play everyday honestly...
Make sure you pick the right bar for your target audience though...
