Twice the size of the small house I’m moving out of currently, and in a historic part of my city, I am finally staying my first night in the brand new place!
This was all me, too. No one helped. I got it with my own credit approval, my own hard work! After almost 2 years of pretty much abuse of a landlord who actually told me I should consider moving back home with my mom due to my illness/disability, which is very illegal. I’m looking for a good lawyer because I’m not letting this go.
I’m only moving on her insistence. She claims she needs “to do extensive repairs”. Which is true, but these repairs should have been done before she rented it to me. Basically, she never did upkeep, so when I moved in, it wasn’t her who gave me the key to move in, it was the previous tenant. She didn’t even inspect all the damage and wear and tear of the place before I moved in. This led to freezing and bursting of pipes, where she left holes in the kitchen floor and other parts of the home. In turn, it invited a few mice that my cat would bring me alive so I could put them outside. I’m not afraid of mice, it’s just having them in my house not as a pet, was rather gross! Now as I type this my kitten is exploring and kind of upset that there aren’t so much as balls of lint on the floors so she can chase them.
For the first time in 2 years, and for the first time in over a decade, I have a new mattress and bed! The first thing I did, once the mattress was set down and I was alone in my new place tonight, was lay down in my underwear on the bed and take the star fish position to take up the whole mattress on my own. This bed is mine. The kitten is allowed to join me on the bed, but I already got an air mattress for guests so I never have to share unless there’s a real good reason. 😜
And now I leave you all with what you’ve all been waiting to see, the pics!
