This weekend, @trevor and I will be celebrating our 10th (yep tenth!!) wedding anniversary. We actually met on SuicideGirls. At the time, we didn't even think of having @missy of being our officiate. Now, I really wish we did! Although, back then T was in the army, so I doubt it would have been appropriate with all the other soldiers, especially the higher-up's We will be in LA two weeks for LA Comic-Con after our anniversary, so maybe we can get @missy's blessings then?
We got married at the Stanley Hotel. The infamous hotel where Stephen King wrote (and was inspired by the "ghosts") The Shining! And If I don't mention this, T will be bummed because this is also the hotel that "Dumb & Dumber" was filmed. They actually have two different channels in the hotel that just play those movies on a continuous loop. And the day after our wedding, the Ghost Hunters from SyFy came to do an investigation, which is hilarious because I did some work with them back when I still lived in RI and Boston, and they are (obviously) from where I grew up, which is why I've worked with them in the past, and why the prices to stay in the hotel in October skyrocketed to completely from "pretty decent" to "holy shit, do you want my arm too?"
Looking at how young we looked back then is extremely odd, in a way. We've both definitely grown with some hardships, and other life joys and downers. I could not be a luckier lady than to land a great man who takes care of me in all ways, and didn't duck out on me when I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which has just made my health decline, especially in the past couple of years or so. He helps me up the and down stairs on my bad days, and annoys me by making random noises and getting bad songs stuck in my head, or booty dancing up against me at the grocery store on good days.
I wish I could tell you that we have some grand amazing plans for our 10th anniversary, but sadly, we don't. We wanted to go to Vegas, but couldn't really afford to stay somewhere nice (and not that we knew when trying to make plans, but the tragedy that happened), We wanted to go to LA, and stay until after Halloween, but T is in school now, and we can't make that happen because he'll miss too much school. Plus things have been pretty chaotic and not-so-great for us lately.
(this is still my favorite photo of us from our wedding)
My dream vow renewal scenarios would be: 1) going to Disneyland (I've never been) 2) going back to where we went on our honeymoon, and 3) Going to a Comic Convention and having a celebrity we both like renew our vows. Minister or not, we were really hoping to go do something special, but it looks like we're stuck here.
(forgot to add in that this picture is from our honeymoon in Rivera Maya at a Mayan archaeological and marine life rehabilitation center, so not some random photo. This was taken on Day of the Dead.)
I remember this butterfly was newly transformed, and he wouldn't stop landing on me. He didn't want me to let go... I guess that can be a cheesy metaphor for me having the best husband a girl could have. Most guys wouldn't stay with a woman who is disabled and just getting worse, and will continue to get worse, and like this little beautiful butterfly we met 13 years ago, @trevor has stuck by me over and over again. I know I'm posting this early, but I love you, @trevor!
What would your dream vow renewal be for us or for you?
X0X0,
💀Sid💀
P.S. @rambo & @missy I know this isn't homework but it's all sentimental and shows how SG can actually flower and bloom amazing relationships that are beyond anyone's belief.
