Hello SG!
I've been a little busy lately. Getting more work on my giant ass octopus tattoo that is actually on my giant ass...
I still have quite a few sessions to go. This baby's going to be full color too. I really wish I could finish it faster than I currently am, but my artist is in high demand and I can't just blow my entire bank account in one go to get it finished. I've got to be a responsible adult and all. :P
Last night I got to meet up with @drama in Denver and have dinner with him. It'd been awhile since we've seen each other and even longer since we've hung out. It was great to catch up with a friend I've known for like as long as I've been on Suicide Girls! :D
Next weekend, I have a little itty bitty photoshoot with a photographer I haven't worked with yet. I'm pretty excited. I hope this will lead to more shoots and possibly another SG set that I so desperately need. (Any photographers in Colorado or coming to visit Colorado reading this should, you know, work with me because I'm fucking awesome. I'm always on time and never flake out either! I love shooting!)
Similarly, I am also looking for people who would let me shoot them soon. I'm thinking of renting a studio in Denver for a few hours in the not too distant future, so if you're in the area and would let me practice taking pretty pictures of you so that I can start shooting for the site, I'd appreciate it a lot!
Last week, after getting more work done on my tattoo, I went to Denver's new cat cafe: The Denver Cat Company. It's just like the cat cafes of Japan, except all the kitties are adoptable. @kitsune joined me in being nerdy and petting, playing, and feeding the cats treats while @trevor judged us for loving fluffy creatures so much. I fell in love with Morpheus, but since I have two kitties already, and due to him being Feline HIV+, I couldn't adopt him. But here he is in all his fluffy glory:
Maybe I can convince T to take me back to see the kitties again this weekend? :P (He's going to read this and be like, "WTF, @sid? This is how you ask me to take you there?" Haha. Whatever. Kitties are my weakness. Most women like babies, but I hate them, so I've replaced that feeling with kitties and puppies. If I hear a kitten meow, my heart strings get tugged so hard.
Anyway, I keep forgetting today is Valentine's Day. Probably because I never do anything for it, nor care. But I guess some people *do* care, so to those people, Happy Valentine's Day.
Oh well...
The next couple of months have some fun things coming up for me. Saturday San Diego Comic Con tickets go on sale, and I will sell my soul for a pass. I hope I get lucky again this year. I didn't get lucky during pre-sales for people who went last year, which was a huge bummer, but it should be easier to get passes during the general sale since they have so many more available.
The end of next month, my favorite band: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness are coming to Denver. That same weekend has a Steampunk convention I may or may not stop by at... I went a couple years ago, and it was cute.
April comes with the High Times Cannabis Cup and with that comes another Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque 4/20 show. Both of which are always an awesome time. Last year, I met Henry Rollins at the Cannabis Cup, and he had a really long and awesome conversation with a few of us SGs. He was super nice to us, despite everyone else always saying he's usually an asshole.
So things are starting to pick up again, which I love because I like staying busy!
I hope my blog finds everyone reading it well!
x0x0,
-Sid-
P.S. Feb 28th is Rare Disease Day. Please spend that day spreading awareness or educating yourself about rare diseases and helping those suffering from them. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Look it up to become familiar with my life on a daily basis. If you have any questions about it, you can certainly ask me. Chances are you know and/or love someone with a rare disease!
