Just got back from Bedford, where two good friends finally (after over a decade of going out) got married. I didn't need to buy a monocle to hide the trendy insect piercing I got on my eye on Friday; 2 clarityn and the ice from a G&T sorted that out. I had a wicked time, got to see friends from London, drink wine in the sunshine and watch the sun go down while the jukebox played some classics. They hired a jukebox and filled it with songs that people requested beforehand; a pretty neat idea which meant that even if a certain drunkard was to randomly hit buttons, it'd come out with a crowd pleaser...
I hope everyone else is having a good weekend too
I have to go into work tomorrow, to feed some bees and get some other bees to make sweet sweet angry buzzing love. As much as I think bumblebees are elegant, when it comes to sex, there's no escaping the fact that the male has two pincers which allow it to grab on and not let go until he's done. He even does a "no-hands" move when he's in full motion, I'll have to get some video up here.
So, from insect piercings to arty ones. Norwich Body Art Festival is coming up in August. I'm still deciding what design I'd like on my back as my first tattoo. I really want something to commemorate all the work I've done with bees and wasps, with a japanese slant to it. I think something based on this image :
is what I'm hoping for. I like the idea of the leaves trailing to the nest on the right, with a free flying wasp coming in on the left. It'd mean also that I could always add to the image with new stuff should I want to incorporate anytihng else later. Hopefully I'll find someone at the fair who would be willing to sketch out this idea and then I could go for it
Righty, time for me to go to the allotment and pick some lettuce and chard. Then, beer at the Eaton Cottage to chase the last of last night away...
Have a good one all xxx
