Oooh, fancy new SG layout... dunno if I like it yet, it sure is pretty and the conversion of the diary to a blog format is quite nice, but it does seem a little more cluttered to my Google loving eyes.... we'll see....
This is just an "I'm bored at work" update. I had a Barbeque party on Sunday, lots of meat and vegetarian food let loose on the flames of my culinary desire. It was a party for my flatmate and a friend who both shared birthdays that day. I started the day off well, by designating myself official cocktail maker and creating 2 cocktails for the party:
1.5 shots Jaegermeister
1.5 shots coconut rum
4 shots pineapple juice
2 shots lemonade
Lots of ice
Mmm, refreshing and the herbiness of the Jaegermeister doesn't overpower you. I also made the usual combo of amaretto, kahlua and baileys with milk, cos no-one can resist that
My experiment with Guinness punch made me realise rich and creamy + summer = bad idea:
1/2 can "Nourishment" - basically condensed and normal milk with vanilla flavouring
1/2 can guinness
pinch cinnamon
small pinch nutmeg
top up with milk and ice
then run around in the sun and feel a bit sick
Edds hot peaches went down well, although I can't remember quantities at the moment, heres my guesstimates until I can find the bit of paper at home:
125g amaretto biscuits, roughly crushed
75g chopped almonds
1 egg yolk
50g butter
50g muscavado sugar
1 lemon for the juice and rind
6 ripe peaches
Mix everything but the egg yolk, lemon juice and peaches together with hands, until you get a texture of rough breadcrumbs. Add the egg yolk and mix until its sticking together vaguely.
Then, chop the peaches in half, take out the stone. Dip the halves in lemon juice, then stuff with the above mixture. Press the halves into whole peaches again, stuffing and all, and place into foil that completely but loosely covers them. Put on a hot barbeque for about 15-20 minutes and then serve with vanilla icecream.....
mmmmmmmmmmmmm....
God, no breakfast today, no wonder I'm obsessed with food....

I liked how you used manning the cannon and sailing at high mast. Is that a sexual reference? Oh my!
