Hello my Ragamuffins, dark horses, crazy cats and beatniks!!!
How was the weekend?
I have been on a high since last week, especially since thursday!
Crazy time of it - so sit back, relax and strap in!
You know in past journals I have spoke about a young man who I got to know over the internet? Well, finally met him a week last friday - mainly to see if the whole persona he had elaborately concocted was true, plus he had been playing me for a fool and was intriuged to see exactly what this was all about - I had no reason not to trust him so I was expecting something and it wasn't what I got!! Geek central of epic proportions!!! Lovely fella, but seriously not what he made out. Gonna try and stay friends but I think he fell. Contstant bombardment of texts and presents this week. How do I get out of this one without breaking the poor boys heart?
BUT the same night - I also managed to tally up a further handfull of young chaps phone numbers!! hahahaha went to see Holly Golightly and buzzed, got in free - got the band to sign the poster and CD and some really lovely comments, I think I'm a groupie!!
Then went to another night at the Retro Bar in Manc for Up The Racket a really cool night for serious cats about town. Check it out...... Got a number for a young scouse blues guitarist who was just too cute to ignore.
THEN........ off to a 1950s bop courtousy of Flux magazine, it really was amazin, smiling all night felt like a star, didn't have to pay for a single thing and I admittedly I was lookin hot as, as well as smily and happy - I was ooooozing!! hhahah Came home with my ex - which probably was the lowlight of the whole event! Bugger!
So - have a date this week and well - stay openminded eh? hahaha
I don't get many dates - no sympathy, its a choice rather than anything else, but I have needs like anyone else and I think I have had my full quota for the year!!
Thing is....... I fell for someone this weekend.
Basically - that friday I got a call out of the blue from an old friend and all round lovely guy, but as I was out and about we couldn't hook up. So, waited and waited and thought - if he calls he's single and low and behold............ he did, went out for a catch up drink and the night whizzed by talked and talked eat pizza, listened to Jazz, got and it really was a lovely night - came out missed my bus and cut a long story short - I didn't go to work the next day, good job I hate it.
So - what to do now - he's FRESHLY single, and I have left myself too open, revealled all my cards!! Poor Lise has had this all weekend!! BUT I'm opening my journal up for advice and support!
Until then - I shall look forward to my date with the 22 year old blues guitarist and hope the BMXer comes to his senses and calls me hahahaha!!
Stay tuned for the next installment of.......... SHY'S LOVELIFE MADNESS!!!
Love you all like - ooooh a fry up at Abergeldies in Manchester - go try - they are yum!!!
Shy xx

i agree completely when it comes to the magazines, television, and the all around expectations from society on women.
we should be proud of ourselves and all our imperfections. if we all looked the same the world would be boring and all around characterless.
in this community i feel that our blemishes are appreciated fully.
HA! don't get me wrong though. i can feel just as insecure as every woman does when they open a magazine and see the flawless airbrushed figures.
i think it was jamie lee curtis that did an add in the early pages of a beauty magazine with no make-up, no air-brushing, no gurtle or anything to create a false figure. Now that is courage. i admire her so much for doing that.
thankyou so much for taking the time to leave me such an indepth comment. i really appreciate you doing that.
