So my bike is still out of service while I wait for the parts to arrive
. I was supposed to get them two days ago, but they were sent to the wrong person who (for whatever reason) decided to keep them for his/her own bike. (ASSHOLE!!)
So now I'm on the "shame train" Yup, I have to take the bus to work. I actually don't mind - the stop is only about a mile from my house & I can read the paper on the way into the city. It's funny how the folks at work have reacted, though. You would think that one of my kids was killed or something..I have been offered rides to and from work by guys that don't even live near me.
I appreciate the generosity of my co-workers, but I am amused at the general attitude toward public transportation. I went without a car for almost ten years when I was living in the City. When I was there, owning one was more of a headache than it's worth. I think I'll survive another week without my own commuter vehicle.

I love the Greyhound, it's such a strange mix of people and everyone has a story....
