well it's been nearly a week since i've been in sf and i'm having a really good time. today would be my 4th day of work, and everything seems to be going pretty smooth with the new family. i think my only obstacle is going to be the middle child because he's a bit of an attention-needing child. he's always whining and fake crying and hitting and thinking everything should be about him. the hitting thing needs to stop. because it makes me really angry and i don't know what to do about it. i mean...what DO you do to a 6 year old who starts hitting or kicking you without being physical yourself? obviously you can't lock yourself in a closet. but you need to dicipline them. he's almost too big for me to carry, so i couldn't carry him up the stairs to his room, and even when i tried he hit me on the way there. it's lose lose. if you don't punish them, they'll go back to whatever it was they were doing. if you do then they'll hit you or whatever. ugh. trying to figure it out.

other news i went out tuesday night with friends of the old au pair who are al so very nice. there was a little goodbye party for her that night and we all went out for drinks afterwards. man. man. man. man. lets just say i was 10 minutes late for work. sooooooo tired. but everything is good and we all went out to dinner at the cheesecake factory last night which was nice. i guess they're planning a little barbeque in a park saturday and then going out. i may go for a bit. one of her friends, antonio, he's got a hobby interest in photography and so we're going to go out and shoot together one day. or one night. night photos of san fran would be good. i saw some street lamps last night that were surrounded by fog that looked uber creepy. def something i'd like to catch with the cam.
