Genvive Zacconi is a New York artist who grew up in Philadelphia where her interest in art started at a very early age. from her own lips.
"I was born and raised in Philadelphia, where my interest in art originated during my childhood, and developed into a concentrated area of study as I began to take summer and weekend drawing classes at local art colleges. While in my early teens I taught myself to paint, and at the age of seventeen had my first solo show. Shortly after, I began illustrating ads for, as well as exhibiting at local clubs and events open to erotic art. During this time I decided to organize an alternative forum for all forms of underground art- at the age of nineteen I produced "Transcendence", a monthly exhibit held at the Shubin Theater. As I continued to push the limits in my own art, I began to seek the knowledge of others. Consequently, I formally enrolled in The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and later went on to study at the School of Visual Art in NY. After taking sabbatical from my personal work to pursue technical training, I returned to creating art with a renewed perspective. Following my departure from school in 2003, I produced new imagery which has been featured in ads, magazines, and galleries across the country. I continue to create new art from my Philadelphia studio, and look forward to persevering in growing as an artist and sharing more work with you on this site."
