ohhhhh the train experience... how awful! the real problem was the ice (well, and the fact that i was trying to beat a train), and i am just terrified of driving in bad weather.

ohio is.... just really uncool. i know that a lot of people probably think that about a place if theyve lived there their entire lives. but i dont know a single person who has ventured outside of the state and not realized that it completely sucks balls. theres just nothing to do, ever, and most towns are socially & politically stuck in the 1950s. the big cities have more to offer, but they dont have that charm and that electricity that ive sensed in other placces.

ho well. ill stop my bitching smile.

and as for you....when do we get a picture??

Molly Crabapple. A New York "Victoriana" illustrator (by her own description). Her work is reminiscent of circus or carnival posters. Here in her own words how she became an illustrator.

"I learned to draw in a Parisian bookstore. I now credit my artistic success to a combination of harsh criticism from the proprietor and hours copying "A Tart's Progress." Later, I sketched by way through...

i'm searching for my next female artist. in the meantime i thought i'd post this link about the "pop surreal"/"lowbrow" moniker. interestingly Robt. Wms. coined the term, but now feels it's not appropriate.

today i'll introduce Lynne Naylor who is an associate of Chris Reccardi. Lynne is from Canada, but has been working in Los Angeles for the last twenty years. as you look at this very limited selection of her work you may instantly recognize it, but not know why.

the reason is that she helped create "Ren & Stimpy", contributed to the "Powerpuff Girls" (a personal...

i found Sean through Natalia Fabia's links. i really can't find much information on Sean Cheetham other than his date of birth and dates of graduation. i prefer to post a bit more humane information so when i find out more i'll add to this entry.

i like sean's style. it's very renaissance, but with contemporary subjects.

as always clicking on any pic opens a...
