(List of purchases, for the morbidly curious: )
Guess I'm sick of waiting for the good 3DS games like Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion and Bravely Default (Japan-only, I think? ...classic Final Fantasy style game by Square-Enix), and sick of there being no PS3 games I give a shit about (though Beyond Two Souls and Assassin's Creed III look like they'll be awesome).
Saw Ralphie May this weekend, at the newly-opened Merced Theater, in Merced, CA. Surprising to see such a big name in comedy visit this small little town nearby. Hope it's the first of more to come.
Tickets were only $25 for front-row seats (though I actually took seats two rows back; wifey doesn't always like to be right in the very front).
The comedy was fantastic - even the openers, but there were some frustrations otherwise. The online info, and even the tickets when they were printed, said it was a 7 o'clock show, but actually, 7 was when the doors opened; the show started at 8. And started 15 minutes late, and started with a really crappy door prize raffle. So, bottom line, since we got there about 15 minutes early (actually, half an hour, but we sat in our car eating Wendy's, so...), we were waiting in the theater for an hour and a half before even the stupid raffle got started. I so should have brought my Kindle, but I figured I wouldn't need it, because it'd just be a few minutes before the show started (even if it started late). Silly me. Anyhoo... Ralphie May was great, and we were glad to go, and the tix were relatively cheap... but next time I'ma call ahead to verify the actual showtime, since they can't be bothered to put the correct information anywhere on the 'net.
As for CA laws I really have no clue but once I get a job I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the idea!
Yeah I'm totally willing to teach my mother, but she first has to be willing to accept certain things are reality. We'll see
