House is finally come toegether. There are like 2 unpacked boxes. Wifey was a whirlwind of energy, unpacking and placing stuff. It really feels like a home now.
We love it. There are still some minor problems, like a window that doesn't quite close entirely, leaking heat, but this house is really amazing compared to what we were living in, in Santa Clara. And so much cheaper!
The only thing I'm really worried about now is whether the car will see enough use for its health... being 40 minutes from the next town, living in a town that's probably 10 minutes from one end to the other (if that), isn't exactly going to encourage serious use of our vehicle. Guess we'll have to make a point of weekend excursions to Merced, or something. And make dates to see folks back in the south bay area.

Don't get me wrong, I like this guy. He's one of the most interesting, engaging, and thoughtful people I've worked near for several years. In fact, that is part of the problem - I like him and I think he thinks, so I really do want to open up to him. There is nothing like thoughtful in-person conversation. But we are definitely from different worlds.
In the end, I think he's still going to talk to me. Score.
