I'm fairly certain that the world will be okay. And if not, I'm fairly certain that I don't want to know about it.

Then again, I'm only fairly certain about either of those things.

* Pick one: Idealism or realism?

silverrevolver:
idealist realism. Realism abiout the world and your expectations of others, idealism about your life and how great it can be...

Show me, show me, show me how you do that trick
the one that makes me scream, she said
the one that makes me laugh, she said
and threw her arms around my neck
Show me how you do it and I promise you,
I promise that I'll run away with you

my two cents? youre thinking about this in reverse. dont think about it as there being a thing out there that you must find, but rather that you already are the thing and now its just a matter of selling it to this otherwise uncolorful world. do it with style, and do it with pride, and the rest of the world will be sucked into your gravity. you tell them what the thing is. hell, from the short time ive gotten acquainted with you, frankly it seems like youre already there. the only limit is imagination. now go get em killa.
rude_ruca:
LOL, Menace2sobriety...what a guy huh? His words are free, yet so insightful.....s'pose that's why I count his as a best freind....

....OK, enough gushing, first of all, your profile pic is beautiful. Your 'thing' seems to radiate from you. I hope to meet you in person some day, as I wouldn't mind having some time in that lime light that you shine....omg, cheesy, but true! wink kiss

Lastly, (again, I hate this word, but dammit, it just fits so....well...ugh...) I think my 'thing' is my tenacity....now it's just a means of chanelling it into the right vein....oh, and I can network the pants off of just about anyone! lmao....ok, self horn tooting officially OVER! blush biggrin

I think I miss college. And in general, I try to make a habit of not missing things, especially when it's something so damn trite, but let's be honest - it was pretty killer.

'Cause there was the time after the baseball party we decided to race across the quad barefoot and Empio jumped - or fell, maybe - into the fountain with all his...

I met a woman once who set me on fire. Writing is more calm and reflective, I rarely write about a muse untill she's gone...

God and I haven't been reading enough either. Maybe Spain will live me up this autumn

Remember that time when Isaac Brock said that it's hard to be a human being, and it's harder as anything else... but we loved it anyway 'cause we were drinking Corona with lime under those little white Christmas lights we'd strung in October and the whole world was a party?

Yeah, I liked that.

I am so glad you're back! How's married life? I'll tell you more about my life ion a few days, but I must run now...
silverrevolver:
Oh, where to begin. My whole life has turned upside down since we last spoke. Was I in Portland when you left?
I moved here with my girlfriend of seven years, in hindsight we were and had been so unhealthy and unhappy for so long. We broke up, I suffered, couch surfed/lived on the street for a few months. Found a place, with the help of an old friend that I hadn't seen in ten years. Met a wonderful woman, fell in love, got a great job (good money 3 day weekends every week), she moved in, we paid off all debt and now I am saving for travel. Life is sooo good right now.

Excuse the poor use of words here, only on my first cup of coffee. I feel as if I have made a breakthrough as a writer. I am sending you a new part of the project I was working on before, as well as a few short things from old blogs. Welcome back again, I am so pleased!

And here I was hoping that you might just be the one who'd buy me that Calvin Klein coat to maek me happy.
midfuckepiphany:
hiya, yeah, i meant my bike, the new love of my life. i'll post a pic soon. yeah, i'm always exhausted when i get back too, but at the same time it feels great. a day doesn't feel normal now unless i go nuts on the thing for at least an hour (hence my previous unhappy entry).
oh, and no, i haven't been doing any travelling. next trip is at the end of September, and it's to Palm Springs and L.A. ... which should be ... surreal

As you're probably well aware, my creativity is AWOL (sorry, ChrisSick - I swear I'll contribute to the Writer's Guild as soon as it returns), so I'm going to have to make one of those goofy, nowhere sorts of journal entries 'cause I'm in the middle of procrastinating on all the things I'm supposed to be doing in my real life, like packing, mailing reception...

Congratulations! smile tongue biggrin

I do hope to meet you and your husband if and when you move to Reno.

And the reason I'm writing this at 4-effing AM is that I needed to call Ireland in advance of my trip there. shocked

Butler! Where is my muse?!

eeek What's the scariest thing you've ever done?

raizor:
How aMUSEing

Hmmmmm , scariest thing I ever done . . . . I guess it's driving at 130 mph
chris_sick:
You don't need a muse, you just need motivation(which I am trying to provide group-wise) and you need something to say, which comes from living.

Scariest?

I got hit by a car going about forty miles an hour while on foot. That wasn't a concious choice so I don't know if it counts.

I've driven a hundred and forty miles per hour at midnight while drunk on my brithday, once.

Going to jump a guy who pulled a knife on my best friend and was known for carrying blades was pretty scary. It didn't work out well for us, yon friend got his face split open by the guy's steeltoe and then dragged from an SUV going about twenty miles per hour for about forty-fifty feet. Nothing really happened to me, but I felt bad. We never did get that kid. Funny side note, that's the only time I ever went to hang out at the nightclub I now work at.

Getting into a heated argument with a cop who was pushing his baton into my chest and then threatened me with mace. I didn't back down, but I did get arrestted for disturbance.

When we used to do dope and have to go cop in the sets, that was pretty tense for a white kid from the suburbs.

Alcohol posioning(one would aruge that first wasn't a choice but the second two times were).

Being stopped by the local PD and telling them there was a toy gun in the backseat, at which point they drew on us. Having nervous suburban cops point a gun at your head isn't any fun. But I felt worse for my friend, for me it was a first, for him it was the second time in a week.

I think that's enough story time for now.

Quick - someone send me a muse! I'm utterly uncreative and apathetic and getting bitter about it.
