As for Mead, I made a great batch of a Raspberry Honey Wine this year for X-mas gifts. It went over REALLY well. Aged about 6 months in a bottle mellowed the taste. I cant WAIT to see what it's like in a year...that is, if I can hold from drinking it all before then.
I still think my beer stands above the crowd. Im hoping to create a nice barley wine-ale this year, or perhaps an Apricot Ale. My fruit flavored beers really go over well with the ladies. My ex-girlfriend also used to love my hard apple cider. Great stuff to drink, and a fun hobby to boot.
A bluegrass version of "Gin and Juice" sounds cool. Some friends of mine in NC did a bluegrass cover of "Wish You Were Here"; I like it when covers take a complete departure from the original. The Gordon lightfoot covers are good, mind you, but it's not much of a stretch to make them bluegrass songs.
