here's a little something that happened to me today. i work with this woman (my boss actually) who really really tests my patience beyond anything i've experienced before. she is the antithesis of everything i am. the only good thing about working with her is the fact that she has helped me learn calm in the face of adversity -- something i strive for on a daily basis anyway. sorry i'm babbling...on with the story. so we are in my office and she gets a peek at my new tattoo which i have not gone out of my way to show her since she is extremely religious and i'm sure convinced that i am headed for the deepest pit of hell all ready. so she sees it...now, she is the most touchy feely person i know, and i (being of scandanavian heritage) like my personal space -- i swear she touches me every chance she gets. she reaches out and starts rubbing my back, rubbling my tattoo which is extemely sore and causes me to yipe and jump away. she in turn is mortified and starts apologizing left and right about how she didn't mean to hurt me and all. she really had no idea so i forgive her for that...but, why the touching? this tattoo is slightly above my ass. why would she feel it's okay to be practically rubbing my ass when she is my supervisor. i'm sure these things do not occur to her. i know (i think i know anyway) that she doesn't mean it sexually and that she is just a motherly type. but christ almighty, stop touching me!! i know some people are just brought up to be more physically affectionate than others, but this is work. i don't think it's appropriate no matter how motherly you are trying to be. maybe it's just me. well, i hope she learned her lesson.
