So now I'm forming some big plan to attempt to move up to St. Louis in about six months, maybe longer... I'm not going to rush it if I don't have to.
I'm considering getting jobs at places based in St. Louis (Panera Bread (aka, St. Louis Bread Co.), Build-A-Bear, whatever else I can figure out) or places I know they have in St. Louis. But I want good jobs, and I want experience with jobs I'm going to want when I get up there... I'm really interested in working with makeup somehow, and if I had thought about it sooner I would have probably just gone to school to be a hairstylist or cosmetologist. Now I'm wondering what exactly I want to do.
I interviewed at Origins in the mall today, and I'm praying I get it. I hope I gave good answers for their 30 question quiz... I think I did, but I didn't know how to word some things. She said she had five other applications, so she'd check and see whose answers matched up to what they were looking for the most and get back to me. But if I got that job it'd be awesome, 'cause it'd be somewhat of a foot into the makeup thing. Also, I'd only get 12 hours a week, but I'd get my schedule 3 weeks in advance so I could work it out with any other job I had. Otherwise I'm considering taking up an old friend who I ran into's offer to call the local comedy club and tell them I know him and how I'd probably get a job right away if I did. I'd work 5:30pm-10:30pm whatever nights they needed me except Monday, since they aren't open Monday. He says for the hours he gets and the difficulty of the job he gets paid well, gets to meet comedians and takes home good money. If I could find a job to work in the morning I'd be set. He said he didn't know if they'd have as many hours for me, but I'd be ok with that.
When I walked in one of the employees had been a customer of mine earlier and I was like "Oh my god, no!" mentally, of course, 'cause we had issues with me being a dipshit at work today, and I was so tired and unenthusiastic. I don't think she recognized me completely, or remembered... 'cause I wasn't wearing much makeup this morning and for the interview I had done myself up as best I could in under 30 minutes and put on a nice outfit. She just smiled at me and said "Such a cute girl."
I have an interview at Michaels arts and crafts store as soon as I find out my hours for Monday and call and tell them when I can come in. That'd be cool, I'd hopefully get discounts on my art supplies and maybe start drawing again. I just want away from food service so bad. And I'm still going to apply at some clothing stores.
I'm actually considering applying at Victoria's Secret, now that I know they have bras in my size (albeit, only two... and they're variations of one another)... but if I could get a job there it'd be nice to have retail experience. Two of my friends worked there, I may ask them their opinions on it and if I can put them as refrences.
I'm so dull, all my posts are about jobs.
I'm losing weight working at a food place, though... mostly 'cause we have to pay for food. And if we don't eat it in front of the manager we have to pay full price.
In other news, I really want these panties, or this whole outfit.
They're from Hipsandcurves.com, if you can't read the thingy.
When I went job hunting with my friend yesterday, we ended up in a shoe store and I kept finding shoes I was in love with. I pointed out a bright perriwinkle blue pair of high heels with a rounded toe... I want them so bad. My friend was like "I could totally see you wearing those with a big yellow belt and a blue dress on, you would make such a great pinup!" It made me smile, especially since she doesn't realize I'm as into pinups as I am. I would love to be pampered for one day with a shopping trip where I could pick out one really cute outfit, even if it cost $500 and get professional photos taken of myself. Maybe when I'm rich, if that ever happens.
The coralisis guy (some kind of flat iron line) had me let him use it on my hair, and I want it so bad. I want the curling iron too because if I had a head full of ringlets without getting a perm (which doesn't work for me 'cause my hair is so thick) then I'd look adorable. Too bad I don't have $200 to spend on both (he offered to give me a deal since I work at McAlister's and he comes and gets his tea there).
