So, I'm not a fan of Black Friday at all. I can't stand going out into town for simple things, only to see people fighting their way through the store for the latest deal that they may or may not really want. However, consumerism tells us that if it is a "huge" deal, then we should get it because we may never get it again. That being said, I figured that if I went to a store that's a little more unconventional, maybe I could dodge the Black Friday insanity.
I learned a lesson.
I went to an arts and craft store to get materials for a costume I'm looking at designing for upcoming conventions. I found a lot of awesome materials to design said outfit that fits the design I have in mind. Not only did I get about $150 worth of materials but I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time and ended up spending $57 on my entire purchase. Now I can see why people are willing to trample over others in order to get the "big deals".
However, I'm not about to join the stampede any time soon. I'll just wait for this "Cyber Monday" and order my stuff online. Avoid the crowds and have the items delivered straight to me. If only convention season were here already!
