In the headlines today:
Bush chose Carlos Gutierrez, the Cuban-born CEO of Kellogg Co, as his
nominee to be commerce secretary. Dear friends, this is going to be
fun!
Take a very close look at Mr. Gutierrez. Does anyone recognize him? I
do!... it's Tony the Tiger in disguise!!.... I can't wait to hear him
speak... Theeyyy'rrrre GRrrEAT!!!!!!
on a serious note. According to what I read in the news, I have only
respect for this guy, and although I don't know anything about his
politics,
I like seeing someone like him get the nomination. He is a 'true'
American.
He's 51. His family fled Cuba when he was 6, in 1960. He rose through
the
ranks at Kellogg's. Started there selling cereal out of a van in
Mexico,
and became CEO in 1999. Now, THAT, is living the American dream.
Taking
advantage of the land of opportunity. Anyone else ever notice that
it's
mostly foreigners who do it? Those of us born here, are far too lazy.
We
would never work that hard or make those sacrifices...we say we would,
but
we don't. We don't have to. My congratulations to Mr. Gutierrez! I
just
hope...well....I just hope.
