Hello (SG) World
I've been a bit scarce again, but it happens so often that my apologies might seem a bit insincere, so I won't
I'm first going to catch up on the weekly homework that @missy and @rambo give us, and then fill you guys in on what I've been up to.
Homework
My first Tattoo
my first tattoo(s) were the star on my finger, and the tiny heart above my left boob, and I had done them both myself when I was 16 with a contraption I made in probably 5 minutes. I tied a needle to the back of a pencil, wrapped some cotton around it, and used the ink out of an old felt tip pen. in hindsight I'm surprised that it never got infected, and I'm still not sure why I chose a heart and a star specifically, but I don't regret them.
The most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me.
In the seventh grade, I was nominated to run for prefect. we had to run an election campaign and make posters and everything, so that the rest of the school could vote for you, and on the voting day, we had to give a speech to the whole school. I had worked super hard on my speech and I had learnt in almost by heart, so I just had a few cue cards to help me if I got stuck. On the day I realised that I had left my cue cards at home, and when it was my turn to go on stage, I froze up completely and just started muttering like an idiot, and started crying. Some of the kids laughed at me, and the worst part was that I was one of the first of about 30 candidates to go up, so I had to sit there awkwardly untill the whole ceremony was over. apparently the kids felt so sorry for me that I got the 3rd most votes out of all the students and almost made deputy head prefect, which made me feel so much worse about the whole thing. I still can't give a speech in front of people.
10 things you probably don't know about me
1. I'm gluten intolerant, but my favorite thing to stuff into my mouth is bread (as a kid, I would throw a tantrum in the shops because I wanted bread, not sweets), so not eating it is like telling a crackhead not to smoke the crack on the kitchen table, but I try.
2. I can not diet at all. If I try to, I last a few hours before I go into panic mode and end up eating until I can't move, and I don't know why.
3. I will not drink tea unless the spoon and teabag is still in the cup, I don't know why.
4. i like drinking the water that olives/feta cheese/pickled things comes in.
5. I had dreads for just over 2 years. I ended up brushing them out when I bleached henna out and almost fried my hair off. The hair recovery treatments made them really loose and gross, and I was planning on putting them back in when my hair was blonde, but never did. I still consider it almost daily.
6. I am super tall. 1.88m or 6'2" for those of you that don't understand the metric system. my 17 year old brother is 2.1m tall, almost 6'9" (with the tiny @lunar , photo stolen from @pyke)
7. I've recently started going grey(it's hereditary, and if I go grey at the same rate as my mom, my hair will be silver before I'm 40), which is part of the reason why I dye my hair so much.
8. I am terrified of escalators and I will almost always refuse to use an elevator. we once stayed in a hotel on the 23rd floor, and I used the stairs the entire time we stayed there.
9. I am pretty artistic and I love making things and drawing/painting. My current obsession/craft/hobby is cosplay, and I started that last year. I have one complete costume(Mad Moxxi, pictured below), and I'm currently working on another, of which I'll post pictures of later in the blog.
10. I have odd taste in music. Depending on my mood, I listen to anything from Rotting Christ and Cryptic Wintermoon to more chilled stuff like the Gorillaz and Modest Mouse, to Tranc-y stuff like Infected Mushroom. I've gotten surprised looks a few times when people find out I like metal. I can't stand most of the commercial crap they play on the radio, though. (no offense to anyone that likes it)
My all time favorite band though is Drudkh. Their music is like magic <3
Life
The good
I've been working on a new cosplay for a local convention in October, and it's been keeping me so busy. I'm currently working on the flame empress armour set for Erza Scarlet from the anime Fairy Tail. I still have so much to do before I can even paint it, but so far I'm loving it.
We've decided to rent a place while we're busy looking for a place to buy, just to get the ball rolling on not being such lazy fucks. We had no idea buying property was such a long, tedious process, but we're super excited regardless. Hopefully we find the right place sooner rather than later though.
The not so good
About a month ago, I lost my Grandmother. It's been so tough, and the only way I've been managing to deal with it, is by not dealing with it. In my head she's still a happy little old lady knitting on the terrace, and I'll be driving down next month to see her on her birthday. I thought that in reality I'd have completely broken down at the news, but instead it's been the opposite, and I've barely cried. I get a bit sad at times, but I feel so silly for not being more emotional about it. I miss her a lot, and I wish I could tell her that.
I think that's all that's happened in the last month or so, so with that, I'll leave you guys with the usual low quality smutty pictures (new phone next week means less horrid quality pictures, yay!)
