Okay, I see that my last blog isn't going to get much love. So I'm gonna follow suispud1's lead and post something a little less offensive.
This is why I liked Michael Clarke Duncan. He was a daily reminder that you are not defined by your circumstances. And just because you're black and had a rough time growing up, that doesn't give you a license to big a thug/dick. By all accounts this giant of a man could have easily become the Suge Knight of Hollywood. But he chose instead to be humble, grateful and kind to everyone he met.
And his reward? He got to have some of the most well-known and powerful people in his line of work to stand in a church and say that he was their true friend. And this is why I love Tom Hanks. He did what I would have tried to do at someones funeral. Turn it into a laugh-fest of good memories. Good job, Tom.
