Usually when I meet a band or an artist I don't like taking pictures with them because it just seems weird for some reason, but with Atmosphere I didn't care. I fucking love them, and I was acting like such a groupie when I was talking to him showing off my Sad Clown tattoo haha.
But my friend Cat took a page out of my book and baked him cookies.
Soon as we got in up on stage we see this huge banner that reads "When Life Gives You Lemons You Paint The White House Gold"
The whole vibe of the place was great, the DJ was just spinning records in the beginning playing classic hip-hop records that made me realize why I fell in love with the genre. Then there was the karaoke part of the show which was fun, I just wish I had the balls to up there and steal the show haha. Best part of the karaoke portion was when the last guy invited his girlfriend onstage so he can perform "God's Bathroom Floor" to her and ended up proposing to her instead, the place went wild. Afterwards Abstract Rude came on and put on a great show, definitely became a fan after his performance. But once it was time for the main event all my focus was set on Atmosphere. Started off strong with "Less One" and "Sunshine" and it just got better and better after that. And I was right upfront next to the speakers with the bass blasting through me, it was great. I have new fantasy after that, make sure to check it out after reading this blog
I bought some awesome shirts over at the merch table.
I ended up getting stopping at a 711 on the way home to get Big Gulp to help with my throat.
Then yesterday I went to the Panic! at the Disco show which wasn't as fun. It was like having steak one night and then cheap take out the next, it's just not the same. Me and my friend got there after Phantom Planet ended their set with "California" (The OC theme song.) The Hush Sound was good and Motion City Soundtrack was ok. Panic! at the Disco came on and I was only into their old music and we ended up leaving 30 minutes into their set. Overall the show was all right, but I spent most of the time playing Solitaire on my phone
But the best part from yesterday was my interview with Hopeline to work at their call center for 1-800-SUICIDE. I was able to get the interview from the press conference To Write Love On Her Arms held last month when I was telling them how much it means to me and how it hits close to home. I really hope I get it, it would mean the world to me to be able to help people through something that has taken a lot of friends from me
But now I'm on my way to therapy and telling my therapist if I want to continue taking medication or if I want to take therapy three times a week instead of once. Wish me luck.
Love the life you live.
