what a wretched week!
i have to get back to all my comments and bookmarks soon,
but i just had to let you know, that this week at work was, for lack of a better term..
just icky!
the good news is.. one of my coworkers might be having an eighties night girls party at her house next friday,
which will entail 80's flicks, 80's music, and even dressing up like we did back in the heyday
i'm going through my films at the moment to see what i might bring (Valley girl anyone?)
our landlord wants to stay put, so it seems he just wants us to switch apartments,
still... this will be a huge pain in the ass!
D and I have to clean up two rooms (the attic and the other bedroom)
which are totally full of so much junk and boxes of stuff that it will take at least two weeks to clean up
we'd love to get our own home, but at the moment are still in too much debt and cant afford a mortgage (Mass. is such a ripoff with real estate!)
and it might be too difficult to get into another apartment considering the fact that we have four cats.
as for work, there were a lot of curve balls thrown in my path this week..
my nights were full of animal emergencies, euthansias, consoling grieving families, and one of my coworkers getting into a car accident while driving en route to babysit for another one of my coworkers
The good news is that my coworker Kim is okay, just really shaken up...
after receiveing the news, and telling my other coworker to go pick her up at the accident scene,
a boxer in the waiting room (dog, not an actual boxer) started having a heavy duty seizure after being seen for an appointment (never a pleasant thing to witness)
so yeah...
sucky!
On a brighter note, we are finally getting televison channels in!
D worked on some wiring, and i can finally see what the fuss is all about regarding some of these new television shows.....
but i still miss cable!
finally got around to seeing "V for vendetta", and "the machinist"
i liked them both very much,
plus i rerented "Little voice" which i highly recommend! Jane Horrocks should have gotten an oscar nomination for this as she is phenomenal!
tried to watch "Syriana" the other night, but i couldnt follow it very well as i was to tired, so i might try and rewatch it.
wow, sorry for all the complaining..... you can probably understand now why i dont usually talk to much about my personal life and usually resort to just posting youtube videos
so i will leave you with this great song by XTC...
it had potential to be a huge hit, as it is a very powerful song with great lyrics,
but as soon as it started getting airtime, it soon got yanked from the airwaves.
To me, even atheists and agnostics deserve an anthem, and this certainly should be it!
controversial many years ago, but it packs a punch...
"Dear god, hope you got the letter and i pray you can make it better down here..."
i'll catch up with you guys soon!

we had a blast - we always do. it's great sharing music. it's one of my favorite things in the world - and you know, i love putting mix CDs together, so if you ever want any input from me when you 'step into modern times', i'd love to send you some.
not that you need to. i think you have fabulous taste in music, from what i can tell.
I'm afraid that my last week was pretty good, culminating in the opening of an Andy Warhol show at the Nevada Museum of Art, followed by a party at the museum curator's house.
But you seem to be facing all the work of moving, without actually moving very far. Bummer!
Greg (whom you met) tells me he's gotten a job up in Boston at Mass General, so I expect he'll be moving up there sometime in the next few months. As far as I know, Dawn is still working in Brockton.
All that makes it seem like everyone is moving, someway or another. Maybe it's something in the stars.
